On June 5th at the Bitcoin 2021 Conference in Miami, the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, announced to the world his intention to introduce a new law recognising Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency, as legal tender. A few days later on June 9th, the bill was passed into law by the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador. This law, referred to as
